Hello!
Flights are booked

Hello!
Welcome to the first blog entry for our one month trip around Europe. Although we're not leaving until June, I thought I'd start this just now so that we can keep a diary of the entire trip, from booking it until we come back.
The plan is to use this blog as often as we can while we're away (most hostels in Europe have internet access). We'll post blogs like this one as well as photos (hopefully) from each of the cities that we visit.
Last night we got the ball rolling by finalising our itinerary and booked our 3 flights for the bargain price of £85 per person:
-Glasgow - Amsterdam
-Rome - Barcelona
-Brussels - Prestwick
The route of the trip looks like this (with between 2 and 5 days in each city):
-Amsterdam
-Berlin
-Prague
-Vienna
-Venice
-Rome
-Barcelona
-Madrid
-Paris
-Brussels
We did consider passing through Lourdes for a few days, since it would be the same time that the diocese would be there, but because we wanted to see so many places and wanted to spend as much time in each of them, we've decided not to do that.
We've had a look at train times and have worked out most of them. The longest train journey is around 13 hours overnight from Madrid to Paris, near the end of the trip and the shortest is only around an hour and a half from Paris to Brussels.
By clicking subscribe under the navigation heading (right), you can receive email updates every time this blog is updated, although that probably won't be for another while yet.
Hope you'll stay in touch!
Mark
